*NEW* Due to the responses I have gotten from this video, I am going to draw up a step-by-step tutorial on how to build your own high quality jib with a low budget. If demand is high enough, we may start building these for purchase as well, for those of you who do not wish to build your own. Check back frequently over the next few months for updates and links. ---------------------------------------- This is my custom built Jib. It is a work in progress; I still have a lot more features to add, but the base frame that moves it around is far enough along to post a video. I didn't have enough counterweights at the time of recording so it is a little wobbly because I was trying to muscle it around. Features: 1.Modular: It can be used in the 8 foot configuration, or you can add on the 6 foot extension. 2.Tool-less: Can be set up by one person in about 5-10 minutes without tools. 3.Lightweight: All aluminum construction combined with the modular pieces, allows it to be very portable. 4.Adjustable counterweight position for fine tuning the balance point. Future Features: 1.Camera Zoom/Record/Focus/Iris controls from rear of jib, (almost completed) 2.LCD screen/Audio connections (in progress) 2.Motorized Pan/Tilt. 3.Dolly wheels/track system. I got a lot of inspiration and ideas from this site: www.homebuiltstabilizers.com Music by Disturbed

These dimensions are perfect for beginners/moderate skates and just fun to mess around with. Here are all the materials needed, which will cost approximately .00 - .00 depending on the grade of wood (LxWxT): 76x48x0.625 96x4x2 (x3) Here is a scanned image of the plans: s149.photobucket.com ENJOY!!!! =)

WoodenSailboatPlans.com Quality wooden boat plans are crucial to your success in building wooden boats. First, choose the type of boat that you are planning to build. You may want to examine various types of wooden boat designs before committing to one certain boat plan. I say go for your dream boat. Build more than one. If you want to build a boat for fishing or water skiing , sailing or kayaking, you have to plan the material and the design according to this. So the first step would be to choose a design. This can be easily done through browsing through the internet. If you are building a boat for the first time you definitely should choose a less complex design which would be easy to build. Next you either buy the patterns and plans and you can download the 3D software that gives you not one but thousands of plans and patterns to choose from with building methods for each. You need to get the required material to suit the type of boat you have planned to build. But since you have planned to build a wooden boat you should learn to pick the right plywood for each part of the boat. When selecting wood for the stern make sure it is only white oak as this is very strong. A guide for choosing the best marine friendly wood is included. The plywood for the bottom and the sides could be either cypress, or pine or as mentioned in the user manual. Since you need to put the plywood dimensions together you should get a saw for cutting, a planer, glue, epoxy, nails, ruler, T-shaped ...

Sailing the home built wooden boat - the RAID 41 by Michael Storer Wooden Boat Plans. The boat was not a complete success. It was too hard to get back aboard after a capsize, but it is as nice to sail as the Goat Island Skiff, goes smoothly and quickly upwind and planes away downwind. For other boats that work more consistently see www.storerboatplans.com
